In the cultivation of animal cells, it is usually necessary to use CO2 to control the concentration of oxygen in the culture environment to better simulate the conditions in the body, because the O2 concentration in the animal body ranges from 1-14%, which is the same as O2 in the atmosphere. The content is different from 20-21%, so the cells cultured in hypoxic environment grow faster, live longer, and show lower stress response; hypoxic culture of cells is useful for clarifying tumors, organ fibrosis, brain The progress mechanism of major diseases such as injury and the search for prevention and treatment countermeasures are of great significance, and the hypoxic incubator is an indispensable equipment for creating a hypoxic environment. )< span=""> to cultivate animal cells or anaerobic bacteria, the incubator requires a high degree of airtight airtightness, so as to ensure that the concentration of each gas component in the box remains unchanged.

The importance of anoxic environment for cell culture is well known, but for most researchers, it is extremely difficult to precisely control and monitor hypoxic conditions, because only precision instruments can precisely control the temperature, humidity and gas in the incubator ( CO2 and O2). There are currently two ways to reduce the oxygen concentration in the environment, using a modular airtight chamber in a standard CO2 incubator, by using this culture chamber placed in a standard incubator, the oxygen concentration can be reduced in vitro; the other A frequently used method is hypoxic cultivation in so-called "tri-gas" incubators, generally by adding two gases, carbon dioxide and nitrogen, to reduce the oxygen content.

In order to accurately measure the oxygen concentration of the incubator, a high-precision oxygen probe can be built in the anoxic incubator to monitor the gas concentration in the incubator, and feed back to the controller to automatically pump the gas to reach the preset gas concentration. The control feedback system can quickly restore and maintain the set oxygen level at any time according to the preset value. In order to maintain constant culture conditions, an oxygen sensor can be used to monitor the oxygen content in the atmosphere of the incubator in real time. This is an oxygen sensor developed by SST in the UK that applies the principle of fluorescence quenching. It has a long service life and almost no crossover. Sensitive, self-contained pressure and temperature compensation allows the sensor to achieve linear operation over a wide temperature range. LOX-02 measures the oxygen partial pressure ppO2 (mbar) and temperature (°C), the user can select the pressure sensor to measure the atmospheric pressure at the same time, and then convert the oxygen partial pressure reading ppO2 into oxygen concentration.
